Nobody

Life,
A mime,
Where audience dance,
To puppeteers tune.

While the puppeteer remains,
Forever performing,
For the actors.

I wonder oft,
Who exactly is performing
And who is the audience ?

Long before I could even realize,
I was cast ,
In myriad roles

I am now one with them.
I am now,
A living dead,
A Nobody.

This took me a couple of readings to let sink in. It's an intriguing mix of lightness and despair, like a clownface that looks humorous at first glance, but then you notice the tear.

I get the impression of someone subsumed by outside impressions here. A most intriguing and mysterious take on the prompt.

The words had a smile, but their meaning had despair. A very interesting mix! I enjoyed this a lot.
